Meet Dr. Umoh

Originally from Maryland, Dr. Di Umoh grew up crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay and rowing competitively throughout high school. She went on to attend the University of Virginia, where she was a collegiate rower. Her time as an athlete instilled in her a strong sense of discipline and teamwork which continue to influence her approach to patient care today.

Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Umoh practiced for several years as an ICU and OR nurse. Her experience in nursing sparked a fascination with surgery and the opportunity to combine technical skill with meaningful patient care. This ultimately led her to pursue dentistry, where she discovered periodontics.

Dr. Umoh earned her dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to complete advanced specialty training in Periodontics at the University of Texas in Houston. Her training provided extensive experience in periodontal surgery, dental implants, bone and soft-tissue grafting, and comprehensive management of periodontal disease. She particularly values taking the time to educate her patients and believes that understanding their treatment is an important part of feeling comfortable and confident in their care.

Today, Dr. Umoh and her partner are thrilled to call the Bay Area home. She is excited to serve the local community and build lasting relationships with her patients and colleagues. Her goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based periodontal care in an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Outside of the office, Dr. Umoh enjoys staying active, exploring the Bay Area, and embracing everything that life in Northern California has to offer.
